We are gearing up for spring in spite of the cold and wetness! We started our first tomato seeds in the greenhouse last week. I saw the first ones sprouting this morning. On Friday we were able to get 200 lbs of potatoes planted before the rain started. I also got some lettuce, beet, carrot, chard and spinach seed into the ground before it got too wet. It rained all night last night and much of today, so no field work again for some time. I will have to content myself with planting into plug trays...
We assembled our new (new to us, at least) mechanical transplanter this morning. Interesting contraption... We have this crazy plan to start some early sweet corn in the greenhouse and transplant it out and soon as weather permits in march. If successful we could be roasting corn by memorial day! Will keep you posted on the progress :) Seeds started today:
