We are back home a little sooner than expected but glad to be back on the farm. We are gearing up for a full vegetable and strawberry season and are opening registration for our Bristow CSA today. We look forward to what the year will bring!

From a quick review of our website blog. It looks like we only posted once last spring. I guess that tells you something about how busy life gets once harvest season starts! We are going to try to do a bit better this season.

We are back at it after a fall and winter off. Chantee and I returned a few weeks ago from a 5 month trip to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. And we are home with a baby on board! (not born yet). We are waiting until approximately May 8 and peak asparagus season for that :)

It is cold outside, but we have the heat mats full of sprouting seeds and baby plants. We are also gearing up for an early planting season with a new caterpillar tunnel. Another one will go up in the next few weeks. They are a lower cost solution for season extension than traditional high tunnels and greenhouses. We are hoping to have a greater variety of produce earlier this year. Other new items for this season: Strawberries! Last fall, we put in 1000 strawberry plants for our CSA members! We are looking forward to a good season. CSA Registration is now open! Sign up early!

The little green heads are pushing up through the dirt, and my heart is smiling. I love working with living things, from the sturdy little tomato seedlings to the bottle-fed lambs that follow my footsteps all over the farm!


As the days grow longer and the plants grow taller, we look forward to (soon) providing fresh produce for your tables once more. In the meanwhile, enjoy the pictures of the progress. :) More pictures can be viewed at our personal blog.

Here are a few pictures. Other items in the news: Asparagus season has started, and if you haven't signed up for our CSA, now is a good time! We will be delivering to Bristow, Tulsa, Okmulgee, and Stroud weekly starting the first week of April.

The seeds are getting big and ready for transplanting into the garden. Going in the ground this week will be cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, bok choi and lettuce.
It's a salad in the making and so we would like to share a favorite salad dressing we enjoy at the Fisher family dinner table. This tofu salad dressing is delightful on whatever lettuce salad the season brings you.

Tofu Salad Dressing
1/4 cup Oil
1/4 cup Lemon Juice
2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Basil
1/2 tsp Oregano
1 14oz package Firm Tofu, cubed 

Mix ingredients together and let it marinate in the fridge overnight or at least a few hours before adding to your favorite salad.
